Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer with an electrical engineering background to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing and executing electrical projects within the renewable energy sector. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring that they meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage electrical aspects of renewable energy projects from concept through to completion. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure adherence to timelines and cost constraints.
- Design and Engineering: Oversee the design, development, and optimization of electrical systems and components for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration with overall project requirements.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies, technical analysis, and risk assessments. Evaluate system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all electrical designs and installations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in renewable energy technologies.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to procure materials and services. Review and approve technical specifications and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Testing and Commissioning: Oversee the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems. Ensure systems are fully operational and meet project specifications and performance criteria.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports, design specifications, and progress updates. Communicate project status and technical details to stakeholders and management.
- Safety and Risk Management: Promote a culture of safety and ensure all project activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical engineering. Demonstrated experience in project management is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar). Strong understanding of electrical systems, renewable energy technologies, and industry standards.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and effectively lead project teams.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills, with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
