Join Our Team as a Data Analyst at AzRe!

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to support the Actuarial and Risk Management functions. The role will focus on data extraction, validation, analysis, and reporting to enhance decision-making across capital modelling, reserving, pricing, and regulatory reporting (e.g., CBAR, Solvency II, IFRS 17). 

Candidate requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in data analysis (insurance/reinsurance experience is an advantage).
• Knowledge of Python or R is an advantage.
• Understanding of insurance concepts (claims, premiums, loss ratios) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
• Good communication skills and ability to present findings clearly.

Strong proficiency in:

• Excel (advanced formulas);
• Power BI;
• SQL (data extraction and manipulation).

Main job responsibilities and job information:

• Extract, clean, and validate data from internal systems (e.g., underwriting, claims, finance, CRM).
• Support actuarial and risk models by preparing structured and high-quality datasets.
• Assist in regulatory and management reporting (e.g., CBAR, Solvency II, IFRS 17, internal risk reports).
• Automate repetitive data processes using tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, or Python.
• Perform data quality checks and identify inconsistencies or anomalies.
• Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and IT teams to improve data governance and data flows.

Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for:

• Exposure monitoring (e.g., catastrophe risk, accumulations);
• Risk metrics (SCR, stress testing, scenario analysis);
• Business performance (loss ratios, claims development).
